Meet Jean, the Children's Book Seller

My name is Jean. I live in Wellington, New Zealand with my husband and children. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my children grow and develop as they discover new aspects of life daily. My husband and I started reading to our children when they were just a few weeks old. We started with children's picture books, with simple text or nursery rhymes. When my children were little, we often would end up on the couch with a pile of children's books reading to them. These were special moments we spent with our children.
The Children's Bookshelf is my hobby business. It's my stress reliever after a hard day dealing with numbers . I enjoy discovering new children's books and new insights about literacy and children. I spend countless hours on the couch with my children poring through books, helping my children discover new words, examining illustrations. It never ceases to amaze me how we keep discovering new things about a book even though we've read it cover to cover a zillion times. |
